Breakfast of Champions…My Smoothie Recipe
A while ago I mentioned in passing that AE and I like to start our days with a fruit and yogurt smoothie. Well, I still get a few emails a month asking me for the recipe. So, I thought I’d share it here.
While we eat this for breakfast, I have one friend who shares a smoothie with her son each afternoon. Any time of day, this is a big hit. And I promise your kids, or green-leery grown-ups, won’t even detect their presence.
The Cast of Characters (for two servings)
- ½ cup each frozen organic strawberries and blueberries (or your favorite fruits)
- ½ cup organic skim milk
- ½ cup organic nonfat vanilla yogurt
- 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
- 2 cups fresh spinach or kale, roughly torn
- 1 scoop of French Vanilla Juice Plus+ Complete (or other nutritional drink mix, my Aunt uses Green Vibrance)
- 1 tablespoons flax seed oil
- ½ tablespoon cinnamon
Act One
Toss it all in the blender and press go!
Act Two
Poor it in a glass and gulp down the yummy goodness! (Choosing her straw color is one of AE’s favorite parts!)
Enjoy!
Do you have a favorite smoothie recipe or ingredient? Please share or link it up in the comments.
P.S. I am not affiliated with or perked by JuicePlus+ or Green Vibrance. I’m just sharing what our family uses.
Great job!
Delicious!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Yummy! I’ve been making smoothies for E in the mornings. It’s a great way to get in extra green veggies, and the berries make the perfect disguise!
Sounds delicious! We do lots of smoothies here too. Pinning!
