A Wonder to Behold

A Wonder to Behold

We are planning to homeschool preschool with AE. Since she is now officially closer to age three than age two, I’ve started to think more about what exactly that will look like for us. I know we will continue our parent-child music, gym and hiking classes. We will do plenty of free-play, arts and crafts and reading. But I was wondering if we needed a more structured, formal plan. As I was busy brainstorming and researching, something amazing happened this week that promises to inform my homeschooling philosophy for many years. AE’s first…Read more

Sweet Surrender

I've already established that I love and still routinely watch reruns of the television show Friends. But, I have thus far neglected to mention that I share Monica Geller’s competitive streak. Yoga for Improved Sleep

I operated on little to no sleep at all. All-nighters were a regular occurrence. People used to marvel at how I managed to do it all on four hours (or less) of sleep a night. The truth is, doing it all came at a very high price - my health. Of all the changes…Read more
Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

AE came out of the womb loving music. Her daddy sang to her for hours after she was born. When she was a baby, there were many days that I did more singing than talking. And, as she gets older, I’m amazed at the way she responds to music. I can’t wait to see how this passion unfolds. Lately, she has become quite the songbird herself. She sings to her dolls. She sings as she plays. She sings when she can tell I need a little pick-me-up. “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” has…Read more
